Children, there are changes afoot. Maybe you can lend a hand. We will now
attempt to explain what exactly is afoot. Is it more than an amalgamation
of bones, skin, ligaments etc? This is a poor joke but that is because we
are at the end times and that makes us emotional. But enough talk of the
Apocalypse let us instead give our magic lamp a good old going over and see
what oozes out of the end.
Of course, it is the genie. He is going to grant us....guess
what?... anybody? ...no? Three wishes. The first two wishes are the
next two parties at Gramaphone. These will take place on the 3rd of October and the 7th of November calendar fans. They will be the WiSH nights that
you
know and love - familiar faces, special guest DJs, great music. But, then
we
will take flight because the third wish will be a special WiSH in Paris,
France as our American friends like to call it in case it gets confused
with Paris, Texas. More will be written about these three great events in
the weeks to come.
After the third WiSH - the one in Paris, fact fans - we will disappear into
a puff of smoke. You will not see us. We will not be in Costcutters buying
johnnies on Sunday afternoon. We will not be on the underground busking
minimal techno tunes on guitar and kazoo. We will be gone. But then we will
no longer be gone. We will be back Back BACK as Smash Hits used to say.
WiSH will crawl once more from the primordial soup and evolve instantly
into something new and beautiful. New concept, New Labour, new danger, New
Order and the England World Cup Squad. Your breath is bated. You will be
glad you waited. Sometime, dont know when, in 2010 you will be fully sated.
