At WiSH we have been polishing our crystal balls. Come close and have a look, you can see your face in them. After many years of study in the monasteries of Tibet, Glastonbury and Canning Town we have concluded that religion ain't doing it for us (all that time on your knees can only lead to confusion) so we have decided to look to the stars for guidance. It's the beginning of a new age and when we look up from the frenzied polishing of our balls on Saturday 5th September we expect to see a sea of Mystic Megs and Russell Grants filling Gramaphone.
Given that you have the gift of clairvoyance you will already know that the heavenly bodies downstairs will be our old friend Raymundo Rodriguez and our best friend Kath Harding. Raymundo is one of the hardest working DJ's around. He is Jaded's main resident and has also held regular guest slots around the UK, Italy and Eastern Europe. Ray is known throughout the galaxy as the DJ that never sleeps, although his mum occasionally changes his sheets. Like all Leo's Kath Harding is a big, shaggy beast. No, that's wrong. Try again - Kath is a giving person and she will be bringing you the gift of techno and you will be thanking her. Mystic Kev (Hobbyboy) will be moving the constellations across the sky with his VJ magic.
Upstairs we will be shuffling our tarot cards and dealing out The Fool (Sean Hewson), The Magician (Sarah Malinky) and The High Priestess (Holestar). Holestar has played at all the muckiest clubs in London such as Dalston Superstore, Punk and Egg and left a mess of her own at her nights Let's Get Quizzical and Hot Mess. Her DJ sets focus on fun and getting people excited, running the gauntlet of trashy pop, electro, classic disco with the odd indie and kitsch favourite thrown in. So, let these three great magi of the dance floor take you up the pole star.
Remember, the doors open at 9pm so get there early or we'll leave something in your palm for you to read later. |
