This month it is our third birthday and we want to give you something you can feel. So, we have a lamp clasped between our thighs and we're giving it a damn good rub. A whole heap of smoke comes pumping out of the end and then, with some reluctance, a damn big genie. For reasons unknown he grants us three wishes and claps his big old hands. The deed done he gets back into the lamp all folded up like a mad map. What did we ask for? Bigger body parts? World peace? Indestructible superlungs? Three more wishes? Nah, you don't need that stuff. Come down to Gramaphone on Saturday March 7th and see what we've done.
WiSH #1 is TIM SHERIDAN. Our inspirational guest DJ downstairs. Tim has come down from Mount Olympus to visit us before and his story is the stuff of legends. He launched himself into our hearts and minds with The Utah Saints. Since then he has talked to the people, his people, via Kiss FM, Radio One and MTV; and played Manumission, Ministry Of Sound, pretty much all the top clubbing venues worldwide. His most recent clubbing concept is VERYVERYWRONGINDEEED and his record label of the same name is doing all the right things at the right time. WiSH #2 is Kath Harding and Kate Nunn, our downstairs residents; they will be joining Tim to bring you the future sounds of Techno.
WiSH #3 is the music upstairs. We will be dropping a bomb on the past and on the future. And we will be doing it now. Resident Sean Hewson, Charlie Bird and DJ Choccy and will be playing the music you've been longing to hear. They've been trawling the shops and web-sites of the universe - as well as their own record-filled garden sheds - to bring you that which is known and that which is unknown. They will be showing you that what you thought was right was right, but now there is a new right, that is more right. Musical genres, accepted wisdom, the laws of physics, the walls of Jericho. All the above and more will be destroyed and paved over, in a nice way.
