New things are good aren’t they? They smell nice. For example, a baby smells nice (not his nappy) but an old buffer does not. Now we’ve proved it to be true let’s go nuts. For those of you without cable, 2009 will be a new year. And we at WiSH are going to be doing new stuff to celebrate. There’s a new web-site, a new look, and a new approach. We’re going to take your brains to another dimension.
So pay close attention.
The first earthly manifestation of the above will be the first WiSH party of 2009. And it lands at Gramaphone on Saturday 7th February. We’ve got two guest DJs that are as hot as any hot ‘n’ tot. Downstairs our regular DJs, Kath Harding and Kate Nunn, will be playing cutting edge Minimal, Techno and Tech. They will be joined in this endeavour by a very special guest who blew us away last year.
MISTRESS DE FUNK (Radio 1, Tribal Sessions). The Mistress is currently working on an album as well as coping with the millions of remix requests she gets daily. Last year she gained the coveted Sankeys residency (the first girl ever to do so) and the highly influential and much respected In New DJs We Trust show on Radio1. This year she will be bringing her unique blend of all things techno and electronic to WiSH.
Upstairs, in the Indie/Disco room, there will be both Indie and Disco. Sean Hewson and La Coop will be playing their usual mix of pop, rock, indie and electro. Walls will come tumbling down. They will be joined by a shiny new DJ all the way from Brighton - CASSIE O (Koochy, Barfly).
Come and stand all gog before the Shock of the New. And, if you want to be really new, get to Gramaphone at 9pm. You will be newer than the people that get there at 10. |
