Sat.03.October

Ladies and, let's be honest, gentlemen. Why is it that when Bagpuss goes to sleep all his friends go to sleep? Is he some kind of egocentric freak who thinks the world disappears when he closes his eyes? Maybe his friends are so dependent on him that when he goes to sleep it induces a CATatonic state in them? Maybe he's a pill fascist and he likes to control their ups and downs? Whatever, Emily loved him. And so do we. Boys and girls, are you sitting comfortably? Not for long because Yoffy is about to lift his finger. The theme for October's WiSH is 70s children's TV. So, get down to Gramaphone on the 3rd October to get on board the skylark.

Underground. Overground. Wombling Free. Let's see what's happening underground first. This month we have a very special guest downstairs and we're all as excited as we used to be when Newsround finished and it was time for Grange Hill. CHLOE is a DJ and producer who has had an 8 year residency at Le Pulp in Paris. She has also released an album called 'The Waiting Room'. Her style is a cross between minimalism and dirty electro and she is one of the most sought after DJs in European clubbing from festivals to clubs like the Rex Club and Fabric. Although we have chosen to bury her underground, we are sure her light will be visible to The Klangers. Chloé will be joined by our very own Madame Cholet (Kath Harding) who will be mixing up a big bowl of sweet tech and techno. Then, in a change to the advertised programme we will be showing Jamie And His Magic Torch. Jamie Le Vack is one half of London based DJ and production duo 2’s Company and also runs the independent record label, F***! House Music. When she's finished she might let you lick it out. Big Ted (Hobbyboy) will be taking us through the square window with his happy childhood-ruining visuals.

Overground, Grandpa Flump (Sean Hewson) will be playing with his Flumpet and trying to make something nice come out of the end. He will be joined by Crystal Tipps (La Coop) without Alistair, and very special guest Mr. Ben (JOHN SIZZLE from Gay Bingo) Which outfit will he wear this month kiddies? They will be playing anything and everything - Rock, Pop, Indie, Disco, Electro, Charly by The Prodigy. The last time these three were together was at WiSH in June and it was pretty hot. This time it's going to be hotter than Ivor The Engine's fire.

The guest list is as follows: "Pugh! Pugh! Barney McGrew! Cuthbert! Dibble! Grubb!" The doors open at 9pm. Last one in is a (Brian) Cant.
